Toyota Innova

Toyota Innova is one of the most popular MUV in the Indian Market which made its debut in march, 2005. The Innova combines superior performance, versatile space and ruggedness coupled with comfort, handling and world class safety seen in high segment cars. Its contemporrary design emphasizes that it has been built to cater to the world market and offers great features coupled with the generous space for passengers and luggage. After three years, Toyota introduced the new Innova with few interior and exterior modifications. The Innova is the fifth generation of the Toyota Kijang (International Name).

Design Features;

The styling of Toyota Innova seems modern and well executed when compared to its peers. However you can't miss the fact that the design cues are heavily derived from the Previa and the Corolla Verso. The Innova is aggressively styled in the front with its large 3D front grille with the Toyota badge placed on the central widge, wing-shaped lights and fog lamps along the chin spoiler and the shapely bumper with its pronounced air intake. Maximizing passenger space is the short bonnet and raked windscreen which accentuates the cab-forward design of the Innova.
Toyota Innova is available in both steel and aloy wheels. The other exterior features include the stylish side steps, rar wiper, Distinct rear combination lamp, multi reflector headlamps, side protection molding, grip type body coloured door handles etc...,

The interiors of the Innova are elegantly designed, packed with dual tone beige dashboard with ergonomically placed advanced instrument panels with wooden furnish, leather covered steering wheel and gear knobs and other leather upholstery. The Innova is blessed with enough legroom, sholderroom and headroom and fits in five passengers in comfort and seven to eight in squeeze. The boot capacity is 620 litres.

Driving Abilities and comfort;
The Innova stands on non-independent suspension with four links and a lateral rod with a rigid tubular section chassis which users double wishbones with coil springs. This advanced suspension system provides smooth handling and nulifies slightest hints of jerks on bumpy roads, making your drive even more convinient. The transmission is well designed and uses power quite well. The gearshift is suprisingly shorter and is positioned very comfortably. The Toyota Innova cruises at speed of 120km/hr with complete composure and with the torquey
engine, you do not need to shift gears too often during city driving.

The 16" inch, 6.5J alloy wheels add to te character of the Toyota Innova which is equipped with puncture resistant 205/65 R15 radial tubeless tyres which are great for those off roading adventures. The front wheels of Toyota Innova are fitted with the large Ventilated disc brakes and the rear wheels are housed with leading-trailing drum brakes, which helps in de- acceleration of MUV. There 's also the ABS with EBD which avoids the incident of vehicle skidding due to slippery or wet road.

Engine;
The Engine delivers mileage of 13km/litre in highway and 10km/litre in city and crosses 0-100 km in 17 seconds. There is also the CNG varient of the Innova which comes with a company fitted CNG kit upon paying an extra amount.

Mahindra Xylo

The Sporty and refined Mahindra Xylo MPV Carries several elegant styling cues of the renewed and refreshed Mahindra Scorpio. It blends the elegance of a sedan with the ruggedness of an SUV. The E4, E6, E8 and E8 ABS MPVs are powered by 112 bhp 2.5-litre turbocharged mEagle diesel engine which is named similar to the popular mHawk engine on the Scorpio. The D2 however, has a 2.5l mDI CRDe engine producing 95 bhp. All varients of the Xylo come with a spacious cabin. The exterior highlights include well designed bumpers, bold grille, illuminated spoiler, and well designed headlamps. Interior features include Power Steering, comfortable fabric seats with PVC inserts, foldable rear seats, driver seat adjustment, and easy-to-read instrumentation. On-board safety equipement for the top end E8 ABS varient includes ABS engine immobilizer, central locking, and airbags. All other varients too have the engine immobilizer and central locking.

The Xylo Competes with Toyota Innova and Chevrolet Tavera in Indian Market.

Experience;

The dashboard of xylo looks well designed though the quality of plastic is not so good. The dashboard is dominated by the digital drive assist system which gives live updates of speed, gear information, direction, distance to go and even balance fuel. It truly is the centre of attraction in the cabin.

The audio system is quite an updated version. The car comes with dual AC with ducts near the third row, so that the third row passengers feel comfortable instead of fealing isolated like in other SUVs.

The Seats are very comfortable and very conductive to take rest, especially considering that the Xylo's seats go way, way back!

Overall it's quite a difficult task to find technical drawbacks in New Mahindra Xylo. The only thing, is the exterior is not appeal to everyone. Especially considering that it is somewhat reminiscent of Toyota Innova.

Road test of Xylo;

Once we get into the Xylo, the first thing to notice is the space and seat comfort. There is ample space for legroom and headroom. In the underseat storage compartments, there is an option to plug a laptop at the middle row which helps to carry on work during a comfortable journey. The mEagle engine developed on the NEF CRDe platform is awesome and builds the confidence of having chosen right car. The most attractive feature is the digital drive assist system. With this you can have internal and external temperature, speed, milage. It also indicates the probable milage with the existing fuel, which is really appreciable thing. All through our test drive, the engine Pick up, smooth performance, and good suspension indicated that it will be a success. After coming back from test drive, we can, infact anybody can conclude, that the demand for New Scorpio will be reduced drastically. Thanks to Mahindra Xylo.
